Using AI for Good and the Gospel: Help Wanted

Whether you consider AI (artificial intelligence) exciting, scary or a bit of both, there is no doubt the use of machine learning and automation is transforming the way we work, learn and create - offering opportunities for believers to serve God’s Kingdom in new ways. If working with AI is interesting, the Aquifer Community Reviewer’s Project for volunteer translators may be the perfect fit for you.

How it works:

  • The Aquifer AI content management system (CMS) and Bible-specific AI datasets produce dependable drafts of Biblical resources in gateway languages.

  • Volunteer translators check out documents like study notes, review and edit the drafts in their chosen language.

  • The CMS effectively manages the process with an easy-to-use interface and editing tools.

  • When a draft is finished, volunteers check it back into the CMS where Aquifer professionals review for accuracy and then publish.

  • Global church-based teams can then access freely available Aquifer Biblical resources in gateway languages through Bible apps to help translate the Bible into many heart languages, where Scripture still doesn’t exist.

Heavenly benefits

By reviewing and refining AI-generated drafts, you contribute to spreading the gospel to nations and people who don’t yet have access to Scripture in their heart language. You can make an eternal difference, plus:

  • No experience required: All you need is an understanding of English and fluency in a gateway language like French, Spanish, Portuguese, or Swahili—and a passion for sharing God’s Word. (Malay, Sudanese, Arabic, Swahili, Bislama and Tok Pisin translators are urgently needed.)

  • Flexibility: Work from any location, on your own schedule. Your time is yours, and every minute you give makes a difference.

  • Join a community: Become a part of a motivated group of believers working together toward a shared vision of Bible accessibility.

How to get involved:

It’s simple and straightforward:

  1. Sign Up: Complete a quick registration process and receive an email with log-in information.

  2. Log In to Aquifer: Start editing AI-generated Biblical resource drafts.

  3. Edit & Submit: Use the easy-to-navigate system to check drafts for accuracy, make changes, and submit your work to Aquifer professionals who check and publish.

  5. Repeat When Convenient: Devote as much or as little time as fits your schedule.

Take Action

Volunteer as a Translator: Visit here for more information, or just email us at email@biblionexus.org and we will be happy to help. Malay, Sudanese, Arabic, Swahili, Bislama and Tok Pisin speakers are immediately needed, but speakers of many other trade languages can help. Spanish, Chinese, Hindu, French and more are welcome as Community Reviewers. If you’re interested, let the Aquifer team know.

Add content: Aquifer resources are continually growing, but church translators can always use more! If you have openly-licensed content your organization can contribute, please contact us at email@biblionexus.org. Please visit here to learn more about Aquifer content, our Creative Commons licensing types and the content most critically needed for the global church right now.

Help us spread the word about the Community Reviewer’s Project: Are you multilingual, part of a team of multilingual students, professionals, or others who are interested in building the Kingdom from home? Help us tell them about Aquifer’s Community Reviewer’s Project by sharing on social media, or forwarding our content.
